We use Your Personal data to provide and improve these Services. By using the Services, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


1. Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
  • Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest, or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
  • Application refers to:
    • BiggerBlueButton Video conference, the software program provided by the Company, and
    • Bluetune, a mobile chat and calling application provided by the Company.
  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to BIGGERBLUEBUTTON FOR COMPUTER SYSTEMS & COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT SOFTWARE TRADING CO. L.L, The Burjuman Business Tower office 1522, Al-Mankhool, Dubai, UAE.
  • Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device, or any other device by a website, containing details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.
  • Country refers to: United Arab Emirates.
  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone, or a digital tablet.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application or the Website or both.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company to facilitate or provide the Service, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
  • Website refers to BiggerBlueButton, accessible from https://biggerbluebutton.com.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

2. Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

2.1 Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
  • Usage Data
  • Contact information from Your address book (if You choose to grant permission in Bluetune)

Billing Data

  • All credit/debit cards’ details and personally identifiable information will NOT be stored, sold, shared, rented, or leased to any third parties.
  • Biggerbluebutton is not responsible for the privacy policies of websites to which it links. If You provide any information to such third parties, different rules regarding the collection and use of Your personal information may apply. You should contact these entities directly if You have any questions about their use of the information that they collect.
  • The Website Policies and Terms & Conditions may be changed or updated occasionally to meet requirements and standards. Therefore, Customers are encouraged to frequently visit these sections to be updated about changes on the website. Modifications will be effective on the day they are posted.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of Our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

  • The type of mobile device You use
  • Your mobile device unique ID
  • The IP address of Your mobile device
  • Your mobile operating system
  • The type of mobile Internet browser You use
  • Unique device identifiers
  • Other diagnostic data

Recordings and Meetings Data

  • Rooms and meetings can be recorded based on user preferences and settings.
  • Biggerbluebutton also saves meeting session report data with each meeting by default, and the user can alter this behavior directly from the Biggerbluebutton settings page.
  • No one except the account owner can access meeting data, including reports and recordings, and We do not share these data with any third party entity without permission from the account owner.

3. Additional Bluetune App Permissions and Data Collection

Bluetune is a mobile messaging and calling application that offers end-to-end chat, group chats, audio calls, and video calls. In order to provide these functionalities, Bluetune may request the following permissions from Your device:

  1. Camera Access
    • Used for video calls and optionally for sharing photos or videos in chat.
    • You will be prompted to grant or deny permission. If denied, You may not be able to use video features.
  2. Microphone Access
    • Used for audio calls and for sending voice messages.
    • You will be prompted to grant or deny permission. If denied, audio calling and voice messages will be unavailable.
  3. Contacts Access
    • Used to help You find and connect with friends or contacts who also use Bluetune.
    • If permission is granted, phone numbers from Your address book are securely transmitted to Our servers to match with existing Bluetune users. We do not store the entire address book; we store only the identifiers (e.g., hashed phone numbers) needed to match contacts.
    • You can revoke this permission at any time via Your device’s settings, though some features (e.g., contact discovery) may no longer function.
  4. Push Notifications
    • Used to send real-time alerts for incoming calls, messages, and notifications.
    • You can disable or adjust notification settings at any time via Your device’s settings; however, turning off notifications may limit Your ability to receive message and call alerts promptly.

3.1 End-to-End Encryption (If Applicable)

Where indicated, Bluetune employs end-to-end encryption for chat messages, meaning that messages are encrypted on Your device and can only be decrypted on the intended recipient’s device. We do not have access to the content of these messages.


4. Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on Our Service and to store certain information. This helps improve and analyze Our Service. For more details, please refer to the “Tracking Technologies and Cookies” sections above.


5. Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service and to ensure the functionality of audio/video calling and real-time chat in Bluetune.
  • To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service.
  • For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance, and undertaking of any purchase, subscription, or usage contract for the products, services, or features You have engaged with.
  • To contact You: by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, including push notifications.
  • To provide You with updates on news, special offers, and general information about other goods, services, and events which We offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about, unless You have opted not to receive such information.
  • To manage Your requests: to attend and manage Your requests to Us.
  • For business transfers: We may use Your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
  • For other purposes: data analysis, usage trends, promotional campaign effectiveness, evaluation and improvement of Our Service, products, services, marketing, and Your experience.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to contact You, or to provide and maintain Our Services (including Bluetune’s chat and call functionality).
  • For business transfers: in the event of a merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business.
  • With Affiliates: We will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
  • With business partners: to offer You certain products, services, or promotions.
  • With other users: when You share personal information in public areas or groups, it may be viewed by all users.

We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with Our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Our legal agreements and policies.

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction, where the data protection laws may differ. By submitting Your Personal Data to Us, You consent to such transfer.

  • Business Transactions: If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Service, including Bluetune, does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13. If You become aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us so that We can delete it from Our servers.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.


13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when posted on this page.
